Hello everyone! This week has been great! For English, the PN students reviewed the vocabulary about Family by playing an interactive game of popping bubbles and they were great at it! They also had fun listening to a story about how a family works happily together to help others. The new letter introduced this week was the letter E, and one of the words they explored was Elephant where they pretended to be elephants and stomped around the classroom. It was so much fun! For Math, they were introduced to the concept of Big and Small; they did a fantastic job sorting different objects that are big and small. They even got a chance to compare the sizes of their families by looking at each other’s family photos and counting the number of family members. It was another amazing week for our little learners at ABC!

For Cambridge this week, we discussed the concept of Sharing and how we can incorporate the concept in our daily activities. For Maths, we explored the concept of sorting objects into different categories and learnt about Triangles. We even revised our counting from numbers 1-5 and learnt all about number 6! The children are great with their numbers and they try their best every time. For Critical thinking, we reviewed farm animals from the previous week and introduced their babies such as piglets, chicks, kittens and so on. We even did a musical on the farm animals where we imitated the farm animals’ movements and their sounds. It’s been a great week and we look forward to more fun adventures at school next week.

This week we had a lot of new concepts to learn in all of classes. In Math lesson we’re continuing our topic on Numbers 1-20. We learned to put the numbers in order, count objects and identify the correct number.
In Cambridge lesson we learned two kinds of sentences, “There is” and “There are”. It was a hard grammar topic for the children but we applied the grammar point to the things around our classroom and playground. We use “There is” to talk about singular nouns while we use “There are” for plural nouns. Ask your child to use the following sentences to help them revise throughout the weekend.
In Critical Thinking we learned about what products we can get from animals. We learned that we can get wool from sheep to keep us warm in winter time and we can get feathers from ducks to make a soft pillow. We also learned that we can get different kinds of meat from different animals. Point out things in your fridge or around your house and discuss with your child, which of the animals we talked about provided these products.
