Highlights of the Week (23/24 Term 2 Week 17)

PN

Hello everyone! Welcome to Week 17! The PN kids have had another amazing week at school! We were all thrilled to start off the week with the theme “Park” because we really love going to the park with our families and friends!  From beautiful flowers and tall trees to playful frogs and chirping birds, we had a chance to demonstrate our natural wonders and have been fascinated by the beauty of the park. We helped teachers to decorate the park and had fun flying like different insects in the classroom! For English, we focused on the new letter V and explored its related words such as Volcano, Vest, Violin, Van. We had a blast listening to some violin music and played “The Floor is LAVA” game with our friends! What a fantastic experience in the lesson! Another fascinating concept we talked about this week was colour mixing. It was VERY magical to know that we can actually create new hues by combining different colours! For example, mixing red and blue creates purple, while mixing yellow and blue creates green! That’s all for this week! We look forward to another exciting week ahead!

K1

It has been a very busy week for our K1 students as we have been reviewing all of our topics which we have covered for the second term in Cambridge and in Phonics through fun games and different activities. For Critical Thinking this week, our students have been exploring and discussing the concept of ‘Bravery’ and what it takes to be brave—it’s always important to try even if you are a little scared. All our students have been very good at showing just how brave they are by trying new things. We are very proud of their efforts, even if it might be a little bit scary. For Math, we are moving up the number line as we learn the number 17! We also continued exploring our topic of mixing colours as everyone tried to make orange using red and yellow! They have also put their own colouring skills to the test as they try to make orange using crayons, too! That’s all for now, but we are certainly looking forward to another fun week ahead!

K2

We are grateful for the joyful week that has gone by in which we spent in a state of gratitude aligning with this week’s Critical Thinking theme of “Being Grateful”. As we reflected on special events in our lives that we had to be grateful for. We then took the opportunity to make thank you cards for our friend’s expressing gratitude for their friendship.

In Cambridge we explored our way through “The Old House” discovering the different parts of a home. During this little adventure with our Super Minds Friends, we also learnt a really cool fact, that “there’s” and there is” means the same thing.

Our phonics and Maths lessons were super fun as we engaged in team games and activities to review all our previously learnt concepts making sure we knew them to the best of our abilities.

We ended of the week and month on a celebratory note with our “May Pathfinders” where we got to acknowledge the hard work our of friends.

K3

Welcome back dear friends! How was everyone’s weekend? We hope that you all had fun on our Family Fun Day! It was definitely an event to remember!

This week in Critical Thinking for our K3 friends, we capped off this month of Character Development with another skill of Perseverance! Our friends were very keen to understand what Not Giving Up really means despite failures or difficulties. It was amazing to see them reflect on the things that they have already achieved and figure out how it wasn’t as easy as they thought it was in the beginning. They had fun testing their skills with their perseverance challenge activities and seeing how far they can go.

Then, for Maths, we had a recap of the concepts that we have learned these past weeks using fun games and activities. As for our Subtraction, we moved up on our borrowing skills within 50 on our minuend! Our friends were definitely up for a challenge!

And that's it for this week! June is just around the corner! Time does fly by very quickly! We shall see you back here next week! Until then, our good friends!
