As our young learners are settling into their new routine, they are diving into their first lessons of the week with much enthusiasm. They have begun using their Pippa and Pop student books, which have quickly become a favorite. They were introduced to their very first unit entitled "My Friends". The whole unit encourages them to explore the importance of friendship and teamwork. Through engaging activities, the little ones are learning to express themselves and appreciate their peers. Their Math lesson focuses on the colour red and has sparked their sense of creativity. The PN students enjoyed taking part in hands-on activities, identifying red objects around the classroom, and even creating red-themed crafts at school. They continue to discover all the fascinating things they see at school as well as things that they bring in their school bag. It's a joy to witness their growth as they embark on this educational journey together!

It’s been an absolute joy seeing all our K1s settle into their classroom routines so well. We practiced our daily routine of taking attendance, greeting one another, and going through the date and weather; it was lovely to see some students feeling confident and independent. In Phonics this week, we continued to recap our letters C, D and E through games as well as tracing. In Critical Thinking, we introduced the Mid-Autumn Festival by making a lovely moon craft. The craft gave us a great opportunity to practice our fine motor skills as we practiced scrunching paper, opening it up and peeling star stickers. In math this week, our activities centered around the number ‘1’ and the shape ‘circle’. Our week concluded with an active Olympic themed birthday party where we earned medals as we played sport-themed games throughout the school. We look forward to continuing our learning journey next week.
K2
We were very excited to be back at school after the “long weekend”, as we got to see our friends again to continue our K2 journey together. With our theme in Critical Thinking this week being “The Mid-Autumn Festival” we not only talked about our favorite mooncakes but also used our creative abilities to make colourful lanterns for our mommies and daddies.
Our interactive phonics lessons this week have us helping one another to strengthen our sounds and practice blending new words, as we adopted the “Teacher A – Teacher B” approach to our learning. In Cambridge we discussed the different activities that we could engage in whilst being at school.
We used our maths lesson to compare the weight of different objects clearly allowing us to see which object was heavier and which was lighter.
And finally it was Friday and we could happily celebrate the birthdays of all our friends born in the month of September. We dressed up in our Olympic themed costumes and indulged in yummy treats, thereafter exploring our school to partake in different activities and games set up for us by our teachers.

Hello again, everyone! We had such a fun week this week! We got to celebrate our first birthday party of the new school year for September birthdays. Our students had so much fun with all the rooms’ activities. Make sure to ask your child their favourite room! For our Critical Thinking lessons this week we talked a lot about the moon and some of its phases; new, crescent, half, and full. We have asked our students to see if they can see the moon when they go outside at night. For Math this week, we reviewed our 2D shapes and also introduced 3D shapes; sphere, cylinder, pyramid, cube, and cone. We also reviewed our addition within a sum of 15, and we tried to do so without the help of a number line. We used our fingers and manipulatives to help us count and solve the equations. Some of our students were able to do the math in their minds! Great work! In our Physical Play this week, we played a version of “Red Light, Green Light,’ but instead we used “Full Moon” for red light, and “New Moon” for green light. Don’t get caught by the full moon, or you’ll have to go back to the starting line! Thank you for checking into this week activities and we’ll see you all back next week for Mid-Autumn Festival. Don’t forget your lanterns, please. See you all later!
