Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 1 Week 4)

This week our pre-nursery class went on an adventurous ride into the world of learning the letter 'B' - A fun-filled ball throwing game not only made them recognise the letter, but also increased their hand eye coordination and motor skills!  Another engaging activity involved creating "B" collages using buttons and beads, allowing the kids to explore textures and patterns. Our numerical adventure took us to the number 2, where the children participated in a fun counting game, pairing up objects in sets of two to reinforce their understanding. To top it all off, we read the beloved story "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" which captivated their imagination and helped them recognize colours and animals. It was a week brimming with learning, laughter, and creativity!




K1

Throughout an exciting and dynamic week, students delved into the realms of recycling and environmental stewardship. Exploring the various coloured bins and their respective material categories, we pondered over the significance of recycling. Introducing a new mathematical concept, 'Big and Small', we immersed ourselves in the story of the 'Lion and the Mouse' and engaged in interactive sorting games with items of varying sizes. In our Phonics lesson, students had a fun time exploring the letter ‘H’ and uncovering various H items from our magic mystery box.




K2

This week was an exciting and busy week in K2. We started of our week creating our own unique classroom rules which we reinforced by adding our fingerprints to our handmade poster to be hung up in our classrooms.

We continued our discussions on self-care during Cambridge which helped us to realise that when we felt thirsty or hungry it was our body reminding us to care for ourselves more.

We spent our maths lessons engaging in a variety of experiments allowing us to better understand the concept of “Empty vs Full”.

The highlight of our week was undoubtable our “Clean-Up Walk” in which the entire K2 family headed out to the park to help clean up our environment. We had a lot of fun and were also thrilled as we made use of one of our classroom rules, “Always help to tidy Up”.

We had an awesome week and are eagerly looking forward to see what next week has in store for us.




K3

Welcome back friends to another week of awesome learning here in ABC!

In this week for Critical Thinking, we talked about our goals! We started off by understanding what a goal means to us and how they can help us become the better version of ourselves! We investigated our strengths and the things we wanted to work on. Our friends had fun sharing what they are capable of and what they would like to be better at!

And for Math, our friends continued to understand more about 3D shapes and how they differ from 2D shapes as they compare them to the things around us. They also learned how to add numbers within 20 without using the number line. Our enthusiastic friends loved to be challenged!

In a glorious celebration of World Clean Up Week, our K3 buddies sprang into action, transforming into mini superheroes as they roamed near the school, armed with bags for rubbish rescue! It was heartwarming to see everyone band together, learning the ropes of community care while making the world a tidier place, one piece of litter at a time!

Hope everyone had a great week because we did! We can’t wait to share all the fun we have for next week!

主題———「我的家」

 

    踏入主題「我的家」的第二週,幼兒除了認識自己的家庭成員外,幼兒亦知道自己會和家人一起居住在家𥚃。老師更利用小朋友的家庭照片一同製作了精美的相架送給爸爸、媽媽。

   幼兒在大肌肉活動時進行體能的技巧訓練,大家都專心聆聽老師的教導,單手從地面拾豆袋,放在膠籃內,不單能保持身體平衡,更成功地把豆袋放進籃子裡呢!

  中文認字方面,幼兒學習認字「月」,幼兒知道「月」有不同的形狀,例如有彎彎的、有圓圓的!幼兒一起拿着不同的黃色圓形物件,模擬又大又圓的月亮呢!

 

學習目的

1. 認讀認字:「月」並學習其字義

2. 能享受製作家庭相框的樂趣

3.能利用單手從地面拾豆袋並放入膠籃

主題:我的學校


在「我的學校」主題的第二週,幼兒逐漸適應課堂的運作。老師向他們介紹校內的工作人員,讓幼兒認識每位成員的職責與角色。隨後,幼兒手持相片,興奮地尋找並認識這些人物,並向他們友好地微笑打招呼。

接著,老師解釋了一人遊戲和團體遊戲的區別,分享團體遊戲的好處與樂趣,並鼓勵幼兒勇於結交新朋友。隨後,老師展示了「朋友樹」的範例,邀請幼兒將朋友的照片貼上去,並一一朗讀出朋友的名字,使每位同學都感受到被重視和認可,明白每個人都有屬於自己的朋友。

老師帶領幼兒到課室的不同區角,介紹每個區域的功能和使用規則。接著,老師教導幼兒如何擺放和整理玩具,讓他們知道物品的分類和整齊擺放的重要性。老師還示範如何將積木、拼圖和玩偶分開放置,並引導幼兒參與整理活動,鼓勵他們互相合作、互相幫忙。

1.  認識學校裏的人物

2.  知道結交新朋友的方法

3.  學會整理物品






K2

主題:我們的學校

 

本週已經是本主題的最後一週,幼兒知道在學校裏有不同的活動。我們的學習主題圍繞「交好朋友」。透過故事分享,幼兒學習理解、尊重及接納朋友的感受及意願。另外,幼兒知道本學年有些新同學轉校,同班上多了很多新面孔,舊的同學可以先自我介紹,可讓新同學熟悉我們這個大家庭,變成好朋友。因此,我們製作朋友卡片,承諾當個友善的「好朋友」。透過故事《在學校裏》進行分享活動,讓幼兒說出自己最喜愛的校園活動。最後的結果最多人說出「體能活動」為最喜愛的校園活動。

最後,老師提醒大家遊戲時應遵守秩序,做個守禮的好孩子!明白在學校和同學一同遊戲是很快樂的事情。

 

學習目的: 1)  能依次序排列學校一天的活動

2)  分享自己喜歡的校園活動               

3)  培養分工合作的精神

4) 學習做一個有禮貎和守秩序的好孩子






K3

今週繼續探索主題「我們居住的地方」,老師利用影片讓幼兒認識社區裏常見的符號或標誌,如商場及公園的標誌。老師也利用圖片向幼兒介紹無障礙設施,讓他們知道社區中設有很多設施,能幫助有需要的人。

此外,透過圖片,幼兒認識香港的著名景點,如太平山頂、太空館、濕地公園和青馬大橋等。最後,幼兒分享生活經驗和閱讀故事,藉此明白愛護環境的重要性。

 

學習目的:

1. 觀察社區裏常見的符號或標誌

2. 知道無障礙設施的用途

3. 認識香港的著名景點
