Our pre-nursery class is already in its second month, and the progress has been nothing short of remarkable! The little ones have adapted wonderfully to their new routines and environments. This week in our pre-nursery class, we had a delightful time revising letters A and B with fun and engaging activities. For the letter B, the children had a blast blowing bubbles and playing with colourful balloons, which not only helped them remember the letter but also kept them active and entertained. Moving on to the letter A, the kids were excited to play with their new friend Mr. Alligator. In addition to our letter activities, we focused on the number 3 in math. The children participated in a hands-on activity with their teacher, counting and grouping objects into sets of three, which made learning numbers a joyful experience. Our week was filled with laughter, learning, and lots of playful moments! Well done little champs!
K1
Our first month in K1 has flown by and we are so proud of the progress everyone has made in this month. We are all becoming more independent now; we enter school, take attendance, put our bags away and start our day by greeting each other and updating our calendar. In Phonics, we continue to add new letters to our letter bank and we’re doing a great job tracing all these letters as we go. Cambridge has been lots of fun this week as we started a new topic of animals; everyone has been so keen to share their preferences of their favourite animals and we particularly enjoyed playing a game where we guess the animals from the sounds they make. Math was interesting as we explored the concept of ‘long’ vs ‘short’ using different classroom objects like rulers, pencils, crayons etc. Feel free to try this at home too! It’s been a great first month for us and we can’t wait for all the fun we’ll have in October.
K2
Welcome to week 5! In this week, our K2 students have explored our school campus. They have been introduced to different parts of the school and staff who help us during school time. We learned to sing the school song. We even went on a school hunt and went to different checkpoints! It was great to greet familiar and new faces and get to know more about our teachers, admins and janitors.
In our Cambridge lessons we started a new unit where we discussed different parts of a house and what we do at home. We found out that not everyone has a dining room and they put the dining table in the living room instead because of small spaces in Hong Kong! We also learned that a sofa can also be called a couch!
In our Math lessons, we learned how to spot the odd one out, which means find the different one among other pictures. There was an activity where we all came out to the front and tap on the different picture on the smartboard. Everyone was so eager and excited!
That’s all for this week! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend and we’ll see you next week!
K3
Welcome to another exciting week of learning in K3 Class! This week, we were introduced to our very special class pet and learned the important rules for taking care of them. We talked about being gentle and kind, even though our pet is a soft toy, and discussed the value of being responsible not just for ourselves but for others too. We also explored fun activities we can do with our pet, like playing with toys and even visiting the park. Everyone is thrilled about the opportunity to take our class pet home on the weekends.
To wrap up our Critical Thinking topic, we held a Show and Tell focusing on our goals. Setting goals is essential as it helps us reflect on the progress, we can achieve throughout our time in K3. During Show and Tell, students shared a range of personal and classroom-related goals, explaining why each goal was important to them. Additionally, classmates raised their hands if they have also chosen the same goal for the school year.
We started a new topic on wild animals for our Cambridge lesson. Students tried to use their reading ability by matching the word cards to their pictures. In addition, each student was also given the chance to share some facts about each animal. What a great week of learning.
