Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 2 Week 10)

Hello everyone! It’s week 10 of our second term, and we had such a special week – Book Week! We did all sorts of fun games and activities about a really cool story - I Want a Bedtime Story, which is about a naughty princess who did not want to go to sleep. First, we mapped out our story, from the beginning to the end; sticking the pictures in order was so much fun! We then did a fun Shape Hunt, using our trusty telescopes to find all sorts of hidden shapes we could find in the story. We also did a fun little Easter craft, where we became little chicks hatching out of the eggs! We wrapped up our week with a final telling of the story and this time we got to pretend to be the characters! We had so much fun dressing up as princes and princesses. We can’t wait for next week, our Easter week – we’ll see you then!

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to our ABC blog!

This week in Phonics, we focused on blending with /c/ and /k/. We also introduced the sight words “I,” “to,” and “the.” Sight words are the most common words we encounter in reading and writing, and they cannot be blended.

In Cambridge, we kicked off a new topic called “Jobs.” The students explored various professions and practiced sentences like “He’s/She’s a…”.

For Critical Thinking, we began discussing Mother’s Day, asking students to describe their mommies. We also created a special craft to celebrate our loving moms.

In Math, we learned to count up to 15 and introduced the colour gold.

That wraps up our activities for the week! We look forward to seeing you next week!

Welcome everyone to our K3 blog!

This week in our Cambridge lesson, we are continuing our topic called “Around the Town” where we learn vocabulary about places. We also have our language focus this week on “to infinitive” where we learn to talk about what we are going to do. We used the sight word “to” and form sentences about what our classmates are acting out in front of the class.

In Math lessons, we’re recalling our Symmetry topic. We started the topic by finding things around the classroom that has a line of symmetry. We then brought it to a line in front of the class and discuss each object, figuring out how many lines of symmetry each object has.

Finally, our teacher made an obstacle course using cones and hoops during Physical Play where we are tested on running and balancing. It was a great way to end the week with some physical exercise. See you next week for another K3 Blog!

主題-復活節

今週的主題是「齊來慶祝復活節」,透過故事《尋蛋遊戲》,幼兒認識復活節的由來及復活節的傳統文化習俗,復活節有彩蛋、兔子、百合花等。為了讓幼兒認識復活節尋蛋遊戲,我們在今週舉行了尋蛋遊戲活動,他們玩得非常開心。

中文認字方面,幼兒認識中文認字「豆」,幼兒認識有不同類型的豆,也在課堂活動中嘗試打開毛豆,幼兒小心翼翼地打開毛豆的外層,把中間的豆拿出來,並向大家說出中文認字「豆」。

學習目的:

(1) 認識復活節常見的名稱

(2) 認識尋彩蛋的樂趣

(3) 認識「豆」的字形和字義

主題-交通工具

今週的主題是「交通工具」,老師帶領幼兒認識香港路軌上的交通工具,如電車、港鐵和山頂纜車。首先,他們探索不同路軌的特性,不同交通工具在路軌上運行的方式和特點,以及它們獨特的路線和外形。

 

其次,幼兒認識了港鐵內的各項設施及用途,包括車票查閲機、客務中心和購票機。通過活動,讓幼兒認識港鐵内不同設施的功能和作用,學習在乘車過程中如何有效利用這些設施,以提升乘車便利性和安全性。

 

此外,老師與幼兒一起認識了港鐵的乘車步驟。幼兒知道乘坐港鐵的步驟,包括購票、進站、上車、乘車期間的注意事項,以及到達目的地後的下車流程。

 

學習目的:

(1) 認識在路軌上行駛的交通工具

(2) 認識港鐵的設施及用途

(3)認識港鐵的乘車步驟

主題--「認識世界」

本週進入主題「認識世界」第一週,老師利用地球儀引起幼兒的學習興趣,幼兒通過觀察地圖,指出在地球上藍色的部分是海洋,而已有七個大洲,包括亞洲、歐洲、非洲、大洋洲、北美洲、南美洲、南極洲。

老師引導幼兒認識亞洲有哪些國家?有幼兒說中國是在亞洲,接著老師利用簡報介紹中國地圖,問幼兒香港在哪裡呢?幼兒能成功指出香港的位置。

過程中,不少幼兒表示曾到訪過不同的國家,老師提議請幼兒下星期可以帶些到外地旅遊的照片回來分享,以加深幼兒對不同國家、城市的認識及訓練他們的分享技巧。

除此之外,老師透過不同國家食物的圖片,請幼兒說說曾經嚐試了哪國食物,幼兒都可指出香港可以吃到很多不同國家的食物,從而帶出香港是個美食天堂。

 

學習目的:

1.     知道地球分為陸地和海洋

2.     認識不同國家的食物

  1. 培養尊重文化差異的態度






K3

主題: 「交通工具」

 

本週我們展開新主題「交通工具」,透過圖片、集體遊戲及角色扮演,讓幼兒認識海、陸、空交通工具及其用途。老師還分享了香港昔日交通工具的演變,提升幼兒的文化認識。另外,亦讓幼兒了解交通工具的用途,乘搭的禮儀及與我們日常生活有著息息相關的關係。

 

此外,幼兒合作創作模擬交通城市,學習交通標誌和設施,從中培養創意及合作精神,遵守交通工具的使用守則,並知道道路安全的重要性。

 

學習目的: 1)了解交通工具與我們日常生活的關係

2)比較現今和昔日的交通工具

3)知道道路安全的重要性
