PN

Hello everyone!! Welcome to week 15! This week, we zoomed into the Pippa and Pop world with the classic tale of "The Hare and the Tortoise"—and oh, what a blast we had! We learned that being slow and steady wins the race and that trying your best is what truly matters! We giggled, hopped like speedy hares, and tiptoed like wise tortoises. For English, we dove back into the letter S and T with a cool sorting game. We did a great job and matched the objects like pros! For Math, we turned into the colour detectives on a mission to find ORANGE everywhere! We spotted oranges, toys, and even our own clothes—so many "I found it!" moments! It was another fantastic week in ABC, filled with laughter and learning. We can’t wait to see what next week has in store! Have a wonderful weekend!

K1

We’ve had a week full of exciting new topics and hands on experiments. In Phonics this week, we are challenging ourselves by blending with more difficult sounds through games and activities; it’s great to see the students enjoying the challenge. We started our Critical Thinking topic of transport this week, focusing on land transport. Our students know so much about transport and it’s a topic they are all so passionate about so it was a great chance for us to delve deeper into the topic by looking at land transport that is unique to Hong Kong, such as our taxis, trams and MTR. We enjoyed putting together our favorite HK taxis using simple shapes.  Math was particularly interesting this week as we mixed two familiar colours, red and yellow, to make a new colour. We used food colouring to carry out this experiment at school and the students suggested we could also use different materials like crayons or paint. Do let us know if you get a chance to try out their suggestions at home! Our week ended with a colourful international themed birthday party which gave us a chance to learn more about different cultures. It’s been a great week and we look forward to seeing our parents next week for the parent observations.

K2

Welcome to another exciting week in K2! We’ve had so much fun reading a new story from our Read 4 Fun books, whilst practicing our blending and decoding skills. We loved working as partners helping one another to blend the many new words.

In Maths, we learned about “half past” the hour by playing exciting games to help us understand how to tell the time, making learning both fun and easy. Our highlight of the week was our Critical Thinking lesson about Air Transport. We had a fantastic time making paper airplanes and testing them outside to see which one flew the furthest. It was so exciting to watch them soar!

We also celebrated our May birthday friends where we wore traditional clothes from different countries around the world. We got to explore the school, take part in fun activities, and enjoy an International Celebration — it was truly amazing!

We’ve had a wonderful week full of play, learning, and celebration. We’re all very excited for our School Family Fun Day this Saturday — as we know it’s going to be another memorable experience for us!

K3

Hello mommies and daddies! We had another fantastic week here at ABC! We had a blast during our birthday party for May babies! We are also really excited about the upcoming Sports Day! Make sure to stretch those muscles before we play, everyone. For our Critical Thinking this week, we continued working on our end of the year projects. We are really excited about all the wonderful things we are creating! In our Math lessons this week, we introduced to new concepts this week. The first concept was fractions! We focused on one whole and one half. We used pizzas to help us visualize this concept. We also introduced subtraction with borrowing. This is a tricky concept to learn, so make sure to practice some at home with your children. In our Physical Play, we continued our strength training, this week we are focusing on our lower bodies! We practiced lunges and had a wall sit competition. Try some at home with your children and see who can do them best (don’t forget to stretch!). Good luck, everyone, and have a wonderful rest of your week!
