This week was full of fun learning! Our little ones revised the letters U and V through an exciting activity. The kids had a great time searching for the letters around the classroom and then sorting them into the correct boxes. In Math, we introduced the beautiful colour, purple, through a playful activity where students identified and sorted purple objects. For our theme, we explored the wonderful world of plants, learning about their parts and how they grow. The children enjoyed these fruitful discussions. It was a wonderful week full of discovery and smiles. Stay tuned for more fun learning next week!

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to our ABC blog!
This week in Phonics, we focused on blending with the sounds /y/ and /w/. The children engaged in various activities, such as listening to words and identifying the sounds.
In Cambridge, we read a story on ‘being prepared’. We also learned about clothes, discussing which ones are soft or hard and if they are for hot or cold weather.
For Critical Thinking, we had a heart-warming discussion about Father's Day. The kids shared what they love to do with their dads, such as playing games or going out together. We also read a story called Happy Father's Day.
In Math, we continued mixing colours. We mixed yellow and blue, which turned into green! The excitement on the children’s faces as they saw the colours change was priceless. We also practiced counting up to 18.

The week has gone by so fast with loads of learning in our K2 class. As we stepped into the month of June, we devoted our thoughts to our fathers and acknowledged their significance in our lives. To set the mood for our exceptional dads, our K2 kids have also started practicing Father’s Day songs that we will perform for our dads next week. For Critical Thinking, we are creating different Father’s Day cards and we will present them to our daddies too. In addition, we read a book together called It's Father's Day written by Maddie Spalding and had discussions of previous special Father’s Day experiences with our dads.
In our Math class, we extended our lesson on counting in groups. During this week's lessons, we focused on the concept of counting in groups of 10. Have your child count in 10s for you, they’ve become so remarkable in counting in groups. We extended our learning of Math in our Physical Play by playing “Group yourselves...” The teacher would ask the class to group themselves in groups of 2s, 5s or 10s and checked by counting together out loud. What a great week of learning!

Welcome to another week of learning in K3A. The school term is almost over but there are still a lot of things to learn. This week in our Cambridge lessons, we are learning about kinds of illnesses. We took turns acting out some symptoms and our class doctor diagnosed us by providing the correct word. We also accomplished a page in our workbooks to use the words we just learned. It was a great way to start a new chapter for this lesson.
Father’s Day is coming up soon! We are so excited and happy to share our heartfelt performances to our fathers next week. However, there are a lot more to prepare for. This week for Critical Thinking we made guitars for our dads to show how amazing and awesome they are. Music is a great way to show how much we appreciate them and so we wish our guitars will be an amazing present for them. So, how are you preparing for Father’s Day?

主題:「幫助我們的人」─醫生和護士
「幫助我們的人」主題已經進入第二週了,今週重點學習內容─認識醫生和護士。透過實物幼兒學習到醫生和護士的工具及用途。另外,透過角色的扮演,幼兒體驗看醫生的程序,並在老師引導下,學習分辨醫生和護士的工作和職責,幼兒拿著醫生的用具時更會主動地與老師分享:「我看醫生的時候醫生會利用聽診器替我診治啊!」、「我生病的時候媽媽會餵藥給我吃!」幼兒都能把自己的日常經驗投入在活動當中,樂於分享自己的所見所聞。
老師利用模擬耕種遊戲讓兒童認識「田」的作用,幼兒對於耕種植物感到新奇又有趣,更大聲讀出生字「田」字。
學習目的: (1) 觀察及探索醫生和護士工作用的工具與其用途
(2) 認識看醫生的程序
(3) 認識「田」的字形和字義

主題:「衣服」-衣物舊了也不浪費
主題「衣服」進入尾聲了。老師與幼兒討論舊衣物應如何處理,幼兒提出可轉贈予有需要的人,因此,老師介紹「衣物回收箱」的作用。我們亦學會衣物處理步驟,如先遵循洗滌指引等,認識了簡單的衣物處理和整理方法,以便日後能夠自己收拾衣物。
此外,幼兒亦學習了如何摺衣服,明白自己也可以幫忙做家務,爸爸媽媽日後可多給予幼兒機會,讓幼兒在家幫忙摺衣服啊!
學習目的:
1) 知道衣物回收的方法
2) 認識簡單處理衣服的方法
3) 學習如何摺衣服

主題----「幫助我們的人」
本週是主題「幫助我們的人」的第三週,這週,我們探討不同的醫護人員,例如藥劑師、助產士和專科醫生等等,小朋友了解到不同職位有他們專屬的職責,例如藥劑師負責分裝藥物、教病人吃藥分量和跟醫生指示準備藥物。其次,小朋友更利用扮演道具去模擬醫生看診的情境,從而更加深他們對醫護人員的工具的認識,培養幼兒感謝幫助當我們生病時照顧自己的人! 最後,今週我們認識到一個新的部首「心」。老師引導小朋友去了解到心字部首有兩個呈現的方式,老師展示不同的字讓幼兒去指出哪個字是屬於心字部首。
學習目的:
1) 認識醫護人員的類別和工具
2) 能分辨部首「心」字部
3) 培養幼兒感謝幫助我們和生病時照顧自己的人

今週繼續圍繞主題「購物樂」,老師利用圖片向幼兒認識捐獻的概念,並介紹一些慈善機構,如世界宣明會、紅十字會等。然後請幼兒分享曾參與不同籌款活動的經驗,如︰百萬行、賣旗、賣獎卷等。
此外,老師利用圖片介紹三種儲蓄方法:錢箱、父母代為保管或存入銀行。而且透過故事,讓幼兒培養儲蓄的好習慣,學習如何運用金錢,並善用金錢。
學習目的:
1. 認識捐獻的概念
2. 思考如何幫助他人
3. 認識儲蓄的方法
