Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 2 Week 20)

Hello there friends! Another awesome week has gone by, and our PNs had so much fun! We learned a new letter, the letter X – and we found out we could use our arms to make the biggest letter X! We also did a review of all the math concepts we learned this year, combining colours, numbers, and shapes to make a really cool colour-by-number picture of the sun. We then talked about how flowers grow, how to take care of them, and what to do when we see them at the park. We know now how to be good and take care of all things in nature, so we can all enjoy smelling and looking at the beautiful flowers. We had such an amazing time this week, and we’re so excited to see what next week has in store for us – until then, see you later alligator!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our ABC blog! This week kicked off with Grandparents Day, and we were thrilled to welcome our grandparents to school. We made a lovely frame craft together. In our Phonics lessons, we focused on blending with sounds /qu/ and /x/, and engaged in blending exercises to strengthen our skills.

During our Cambridge lessons, we continued the topic of hobbies, practicing phrases like "Are you...?" with responses such as "Yes, I am..." and "No, I'm not...".

In Critical Thinking, we talked about the different kinds of sea creatures, and learned about the different parts of a shark. To make it even more fun, we made shark headbands! In Math, we experimented with colours by mixing red and white to create pink, and practiced our counting up to 19.

That wraps up our week! Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

We started this week with Grandparents Day! Our students’ grandparents came for a visit to our school. The students were extremely excited that their grandparents could participate in different activities with us. We created a handprint shaped craft with our grandparents; it was a lovely activity that involved a lot of team work and communication. Everyone had a joyous time! Thank you to all the grandparents who took the time to come and spend a wonderful morning with us!

For Cambridge this week we continued the topic of clothing. We played games on the screen to reinforce the grammar points like “Is he wearing…?” and “Do you like this/these…?”. This activity involved much focus and reading skills as the students needed to pick the sentences that are in the correct grammatical order.

In Critical Thinking, we learned all about Seahorses. The students learned many facts about the seahorse and enjoyed watching a video that involved the male seahorse giving birth to its babies! The seahorse is the only animal in the entire animal kingdom that carries and gives birth to its babies!

Hello everyone to another week of learning in K3. This week we started a new topic in our Cambridge lesson where we learn about country names and their flags. We started off by playing a game to try and identify the flags. We then did a very short research of each of the country that came up in the game and learned a few things about it.

This week for Critical Thinking we dove back to our Project work on Space and planned out our presentation for our Project Day.  We thought about the materials we used, the special things about our project and finally what we have learned throughout our project work for the second term.

Finally, we recalled more of our old topics in our Math lessons through playing games and written practice. We played a time game online where our teacher tells us the time and we had to fix both analogue clock and digital clock.

PN 主題: 「幫助我們的人」─消防員

    主題「幫助我們的人」接近尾聲了。在過去四週,我們一共認識了不同幫助我們的人的工作,包括廚師、醫生、護士、郵差和消防員,也初步認識了與他們工作有關的工具及用途。幼兒並透過不同的角色扮演等,加深體驗各式各樣幫助我們的人。     

   最後,我們討論有關消防員的工作,知道消防員是「救災扶危,為民解困」。透過角色扮演,讓幼兒在生動的情境中模仿消防人員救火,體驗到消防員的勇敢,激發幼兒對消防員的熱愛和專敬之情老師利用牙齒的模型教授幼兒認識「牙」字,從中更教導幼兒要注意口腔衛生,好好保持牙齒的清潔。

 

學習目的:

(1) 認識消防員的工作學習救火的程序       

(2) 認識各種救火設施

(3) 認識「牙」的字形和字義

主題:「夏天到」-夏天消暑方法

今週是主題「夏天到」的第二週,夏天天氣炎熱小朋友認識了不同的消暑方法,例如:吃西瓜、多喝水、用電風扇和去游泳等等。大部分小朋友都選擇去游泳作消暑活動,因為浸在水中使人有一種涼快的感覺,他們喜愛模擬游泳的動作。還認識了一些游泳的用品和規則,例如:食飽後切勿立即游泳、游泳前先做熱身運動和切勿在游泳池跳水或在池邊奔跑等等,萬一發生意外請找救生員幫助,小朋友都懂得注意安全。

  另外,小朋友認識了沙灘的用品、標誌和活動,他們享受觀看堆沙比賽的影片。最後,請小朋友一起模擬進行清潔沙灘大行動,學習愛護沙灘等自然生態環境。

 

學習目的: 1) 認識夏天的消暑方法。 2) 學習游泳時需要留意的事項。 3) 學習愛護自然生態。

主題----「夏天」

     今週展開新的主題「夏天」,幼兒能在天文台網頁上找出當天的氣溫,他們踴躍分享夏天時的經歷及感受,如出很多汗、熱到會融化等,透過親身經歷和觀察不同的自然現象認識夏天的天氣及景象。在老師介紹後認識夏天常見的警告信號,如暴雨、颱風、水浸及山泥傾瀉等。

幼兒更積極參與模擬遊戲,模仿颱風的到來,地面的景象會出現甚麼變化,從而了解颱風來臨時的破壞。他們亦能說出當颱風來臨時的應變措施,如關好門窗、留在家中等,知道當遇到惡劣天氣時,要做好防風措施,並留在安全的地方,避免發生意外。

此外,老師與幼兒一起認識更多的量詞,他們能透過遊戲能找出更多的量詞組合。同時,老師帶領幼兒認識「土」字部首,投入地參與遊戲以找出更多屬於「土」部首的字詞。

 

學習目的:

1) 認識夏天的天氣特徵

2)認識不同的警告訊號

3) 認識颱風來臨的應變措施

今週展開新的主題「運動」,幼兒踴躍分享自己喜愛的運動項目和習慣,他們透過影片認識了不同奧運比賽項目,與此同時,幼兒們亦積極參與運動大電視遊戲,讓其他幼兒猜想自己抽出並扮演當中運動姿勢的運動圖卡。

此外,在今週集中討論田賽與徑賽的項目,他們幼兒觀察圖片,說出田賽與徑賽的特徵,了解當中場地及運動用品的用途。更透過探索一些運動的保護裝備用品,積極與同學進行討論,探討運動時的安全是否重要,從中認識進行運動時應注意的安全事項,並知道除了注意安全,也要量力而為。

 

習目的:

1. 認識不同的運動項目

2. 探索運動的保護裝備用品

3. 明白運動安全守則的重要性
