PN

Hey everyone! Our PN friends are in for an exciting new adventure – Project Week! Each of our PN class get to explore special topics picked out for them by their teachers, such as musicals, fantastic creatures, and dinosaurs. One class got to try out singing Do, Re, Mi, and learned about how music and dancing go together to make a musical number performance! On top of that, we also practiced our Letters – W and X, and all the new words we learned that start with those letters. Finally, we did a review of all the words we learned from Pippa and Pop, and had fun doing a little scavenger hunt in our books for all of them! Our Project Week continues next week, and we’re so excited to see what else we have in store – until then, see you next time!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to our ABC blog! This week in our Phonics lessons, we concentrated on blending the sounds /ng/ and /nk/, and we did a lot of fun activities to strengthen our blending skills.

For Cambridge, we explored a meaningful story that teaches the value of saying sorry, which helped us understand feelings better. We also did a class survey to discover everyone’s favourite hobbies.

In our Critical Thinking lessons, we learned about crabs. We discussed where we can find them and talked about different parts of their bodies. We also enjoyed reading a story called "Shark and Crab." For Math, we continued practicing “one more than” for numbers under 10.

This week, we started a new topic in our Cambridge lessons called The Robot. We learned the words that were related to the body parts and we practiced sentences that started with “I can…” and “I can’t…”. The students’ favourite parts were to chant along to the chant in the books and they also loved reading about what Penny the Penguin ‘can’ or ‘can’t’ do.

In Maths this week, we learnt about measurement. We measured the length of many objects using paper clips as a standard of measurement. The students took turns in their groups and measured various objects in the classroom such as their books, blocks, toys, and stationeries. They were very proud of their work and took turns to tell the teacher “how many paperclips long” their objects were.

Our focus this week was practising for our performance at the K3 Graduation Ceremony. The students were very eager to practise and give their best performance at the graduation for their K3 friends.

K3

Hello everyone for another K3 blog! This week has been busy for our K3 friends with graduation on the way and project presentation following right after. We are wrapping up our project work by finishing the final touches to our final product and heading on to preparing our presentation. We cannot wait to show our parents how great our project is this term.

This time for Math, we played in our groups telling each other the clock phrases we have learned in K3 as well as the terms we learned in K2 like o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. We took turns giving out time phrases while our friends moved the hands in the clock to match the time we have said.

Finally for Cambridge, we continue our lessons on different kinds of sickness by having a reading comprehension activity in our workbooks. We also took turns going to the board and writing the correct form of words on the line. Learning past tense is difficult but we are continuing to learn together as a class.

「夏天到」

今週的主題是「夏天到」,幼兒除了學習夏天的天氣特徵,並嘗試分享在這個季節時需要用到的物品,例如風扇、帽子、毛巾,幼兒在課堂中示範如何使用。

幼兒學習不同的夏天活動,老師讓幼兒知道夏天的天氣會讓人想喝清涼的飲料解暑。老師讓幼兒手製作一杯夏日「特飲」手工,幼兒在紙杯上塗上喜歡的顏色代表飲料的口味,並在紙杯上貼上冰粒,這杯「特飲」看着非常像吸引,幼兒都急不及待要裝作品嘗一下呢!

認字方面,幼兒學習「天」字,幼兒學習「天」的讀音和意思,老師並帶令幼兒到窗邊,一起觀看「天」的景色!

 

學習目的:

1.認識夏天需要使用的物品

2.能體驗製作夏日「特飲」手工的樂趣。

3.認識「天」的字形和字義

主題:「夏天到」-夏天的天氣變化 今週是主題「夏天到」的最後一週,小朋友認識夏天的天氣變化得很快,老師介紹香港天文台會有天氣預報,小朋友知道可以透過看電視、看報紙和上網等等很多不同的方法來知道每天的天氣變化,例如懂得看天氣預報顯示下雨天,便需要準備一些的雨具,例如雨傘和雨衣等等。

另外,小朋友也認識月亮的形狀和變化,透過小遊戲用電筒光模擬太陽光,用球模擬月球,觀察球影子的變化,知道月亮會有不同的形狀。最後,認識早上和晚上的概念及會做的事情,例如:早上太陽出來要準備上學,晚上月亮和星星出來要準備睡覺。

學習目的: 1) 認識早和晚的概念。 2) 能分辨晴天、陰天及雨天天氣。 3) 知道月亮有不同的形狀。

主題----「夏天」

     今週繼續主題「夏天」,幼兒積極向老師分享不同的消暑方法,他們透過遊戲分辨不同的夏天消暑物品及夏天衣服。在老師的介紹下,他們亦認識了中暑的特徵,知道夏天天氣十分炎熱,會不停出汗,所以要經常喝水補充水份,避免中暑,更主動向老師展示自己多喝水。

此外,幼兒亦透過句式積極向老師和同學分享自己喜愛的消暑食品,享受與同學一同制作果涷、品嚐成品。知道多吃冷、凍食物會引致腸胃不適。同時,與幼兒重溫夏天天氣特徵後,他們認識了曬太陽的好處,亦能選出不同的防曬物品,幼兒更踴躍與老師討論曬傷後處理方法。

 

學習目的:

1) 認識夏天防曬的方法

2) 認識中暑特徵

3) 享受製作凍品的樂趣

今週繼續主題「運動」,幼兒透過分享自己的運動習慣,了解每天不同類別的運動需要,從而認識日常生活中不同強度的運動。他們亦積極設計不同的口號,如每天運動身體好、多運動多肌肉等,為自己每天會做運動打氣,培養健康及穩固的運動習慣。

幼兒們亦主動觀察圖片,探索奧運五環的特色,透過介紹認識奧運會的標誌及其意義,同時他們亦踴躍選出自己最喜愛的運動,及模仿自己最喜愛運動的動作。此外,幼兒們亦從故事中進行小組討論,探討「友誼第一、比賽第二」,了解比賽的真正意義。

 

學習目的:

1. 認識運動與健康的關係

2. 認識「奧運五環」

3. 探索身體能做出的不同動作
