PN

Welcome to Week 7! We’ve had another exciting and fun-filled week in ABC! Our PN friends have been busy exploring, playing, and learning new things. This week, our theme was all about rabbits--a class favorite! We were thrilled to learn about these fluffy little animals. We enjoyed pretending to be rabbits, hopping around the classroom and exploring with our friends. It was wonderful to see our imagination shine as we engaged in playful learning experiences centered around these adorable creatures. For English, we revisited the letter O and P. We played a sorting game, where we had to match objects to the correct beginning letter baskets. For example, orange and octopus went into the O basket, while pencil and pig went into the P basket. We did an amazing job sorting everything correctly! For Math, we learnt about number 9! We enjoyed singing songs about the number 9 and practiced counting using our fingers. We also worked on recognizing the numeral and counting objects up to nine. It’s incredible to see our confidence grow as we explore numbers and math concepts. As always, we are so proud of our PN friends for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and hard work. We’re looking forward to another week of fun and discovery! Have a lovely weekend!

K1

This week in our Cambridge lessons, we started the exciting new theme ‘My Town’, uncovering the various landmarks that populate our community such as the bus stop, cinema, school, hospital, park, and toy shop. Engaging in a lively game, we constructed our own miniature town by affixing flashcards onto a road map.

During our Phonics lessons, we honed our blending skills, revisiting vowels and prior blends from the prior week while introducing two new blends, ‘d’ and ‘m’. To make learning even more enjoyable, we incorporated some songs and interactive games, like bursting blend balloons on the whiteboard.

Turning to Math, our focus centered on the number thirteen, alongside the introduction of a fresh pattern. We choreographed a dance following the AAB pattern, clapping and stomping in unison.

In our Critical Thinking lessons our students have really been enjoying delving into the world of Space, with a particular emphasis on stars and telescope observations this week. We sang songs and adorned our very own night sky with stars, before using telescopes to count them. We even traced and designed our very own star!

K2

This week for Critical thinking we are looking into the Moon, Sun and our Earth. We learnt about the Earth rotation and how it affects our daytime and night-time. We also looked at the size and the function of the Moon, as well as learning about the different shapes of the Moon depending on which part of Earth the Sun is shining on.

Then we conducted a fun activity where we took turns to be the Sun, Earth and the Moon, and acted out the rotation as we have been shown in videos. This really enabled us to understand how our Earth depends strongly on the Sun and the Moon in order for plants to grow, as well as providing food for animals and for us to eat. In addition, we coloured in the Earth, Moon and the Sun for a fun craft activity.

For Math this week, we are doing revision on additions up to 10. We played a lot of games and conducted a lot of practice on worksheets to fully understand the concept of adding 1s, 2s, 3s etc.

K3

Hello and welcome back to another week filled with enjoyable learning experiences for our K3 friends! This week, in Critical Thinking, we continued our exploration of space, focusing on the planets in our solar system and how they differ from our planet Earth. Our K3 friends were truly captivated by this topic! In Maths, after learning about our Hong Kong coins, we began learning how to count and combine them. Our friends had a blast practicing their counting skills! Additionally, we ventured into Addition by tackling word problems. It was wonderful to see our friends applying their skills while making it an enjoyable experience! That's a wrap for this week! Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend ahead!
