It was an interesting week for the PN students as they learn about the theme Mid-Autumn festival. They discovered all the fun things they get to do with their families and friends during the holiday. The children worked on their creative skills by making lanterns which they brought home for the festival. For English, the children worked on familiarizing themselves with the names of different classroom objects. They built up their vocabulary by learning words that start with the letter C. For Math, it was all about the number 2. The children practiced their counting skills and worked on recognizing things that are grouped in twos. The week continues to be filled with fun games and stories that are related to the theme of the week.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, everyone! What a festive and wonderful time it has been for our K1 students this week. The children certainly had their own celebrations in school as they played games and shared their lanterns with their friends in Critical Thinking. We made some lovely moon crafts and rabbit lanterns to celebrate the occasion as well. For Cambridge, our K1 students read an amazing new story called ‘The Pencil’. Everyone was keen on helping Leo find his missing pencil. They also put their listening skills to the test as they did a page on their workbooks. We’ve been exploring the letters G and H in our Phonics lessons and have been practicing our counting up to 4 in Math! The students were very keen on counting and jumping on hoops by themselves! Keep up the great work K1s!

It was an exciting week here at school as the Mid-Autumn Festival landed on a Wednesday this year. We got to learn all about the festival, from the traditional stories to learning all about mooncakes and the fruits that we eat during it. We even got to make our own lanterns! The students also brought in lanterns from home. We were able to play with them in the darkened play area, with a bright moon on the projector. This gave the children an idea what they would be doing that night when they went outside with their family to see the full moon. It was definitely a highlight of the week. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! We hope everyone had a wonderful time and ate lots of mooncakes. We got so much done even in our short week. For critical thinking, we continued to discuss the different moon phases; new, crescent, half, and full. During our math lessons we discussed what a pictogram is and how we can generalize data quickly from it. In our physical play, we learned the difference between anaerobic exercises (without breathing), such as push-ups and sit-ups and aerobic (with breathing) exercises, such as running and swimming.

主題︰「我的家/中秋節」─ 一家人慶中秋
為迎接中秋節的來臨,老師教導幼兒製作月餅,幼兒都滿心歡喜地投入製作。同時,老師也介紹了中秋節的由來、中秋節的食品、慶祝中秋節的方法等,與幼兒一起感受節日的歡樂。
中秋節是一家人相聚團圓的日子,藉着介紹幼兒的家庭相片,幼兒知道我們每人都有不同的居住地方,但共通點是我們都與家人同住。在老師引導下,幼兒說出自己家中有甚麼家庭成員,滿心歡喜地介紹着自己的家庭呢!
幼兒在學校一點一點地進步,在茶點時間,他們逐漸能向老師表達自己的需要,他們的自信心及口語表達能力都在一天一天地增強呢!
學習目的:
(1)認識中秋節的傳統習俗及有關食品
(2)知道人們都與家人一起居住
(3)認識每個家庭都居住在不同的地方



K1
主題:「我的學校」─與同學一起學習
今週主題繼續圍繞「我的學校」。為培養幼兒的責任感及互相合作的精神,老師設計了小遊戲─「快樂小幫手」,幼兒分成小組,以比賽形式快速並合力把物品分類擺放,幼兒都玩得不亦樂乎呢!
另外,今週是中秋節,老師與幼兒從故事認識中秋節的傳統習俗,知道中秋節的月亮是圓圓的。在校內,我們舉行了小型提燈會,幼兒從中體驗中秋節玩燈籠的氣氛。我們並觀察及認識多種中秋節的應節食品,例如月餅、柿子、西柚、芋頭等,幼兒都踴躍分享,樂於投入活動中!
學習目的:
(1)能把物品分類擺放
(2)學習運用較長的句子來表達和分享
(3)認識中秋節的傳統習俗

主題:「中秋節」─ 開心迎中秋
今週,老師與幼兒重溫了中秋節的應節食品和活動,隨着幼兒生活經驗越來越豐富,他們都能說出大部分的月餅種類和水果名稱,我們還投票選出「我最喜歡吃的月餅種類」呢!除認識應節食品外,我們還一起進行應節活動─「猜燈謎」遊戲,幼兒對遊戲起初顯得有些陌生,但很快便投入活動中,他們都十分認真地思考謎底,踴躍回答呢!
另外,透過故事,幼兒重溫月亮的形態,認識大自然的奧妙。他們學習到隨着時間轉變,月亮也會有不同的形態,而在中秋節時,月亮將會是最大、最圓和最光的。
學習目的:
(1) 重溫中秋節的應節食品和活動
(2) 認識中秋節的傳統故事《嫦娥奔月》
(3) 分辨月亮的三個形態─滿月、半月和彎月

主題:「我們居住的地方」—關懷與幫忙
今週主題繼續圍繞「我們居住的地方」,老師透過分享親身經歷的小故事,讓小朋友知道我們身邊有很多需要幫助的人,例如長者、傷健人士、視障人士等。為培養小朋友的同理心,老師讓小朋友戴上眼罩,親身體驗視障人士的生活情況。體驗完成後,小朋友都踴躍分享自己的感受和所遇到的困難。老師及後延伸討論社區中各種無障礙設施,教導小朋友遇到有需要幫助的人時,都可主動伸出援手,培養互助互愛的良好品德,成為一個良好公民。此外,老師展示了香港不同的名勝圖片,讓小朋友認識其名稱和特色,並運用電子學習平台的小遊戲,加深小朋友對各個名勝的印象。
中秋節到了,老師利用多媒體影片,讓小朋友重溫中秋節的由來及節日慶祝活動。中秋節應節食品繁多,各位爸爸媽媽有與小朋友一起品嘗各款月餅和不同的水果嗎?這不但可豐富小朋友的日常生活經驗,而且也可一同感受節日氣氛呢!

(1) 能舉例說出無障礙設施及其用途
(2) 培養幼兒對社區的責任感
(3) 認識香港的著名景點
