PN students had a very busy week with parents observing the classes and ending it with our ABC Pathfinder Awards. The children started exploring a new color – yellow. They noticed that are so many yellow things around them! The letter of the week was L, and the students got to know that lion, ladybug, and lemon start with this letter. For Math, the students explored a new shape – a rectangle! Although it looks like a square, the PN students learned how they are not the same. The children continued to talk about our families and all the things that they love doing together.

We’ve really enjoyed welcoming all of our parents into our classrooms this week; we hope everyone had a great time! We are wrapping up our “Science Fun” month for critical thinking by revisiting our favourite concepts and experiments such as sink and float, sounds, smell, and mixing colours. In our Cambridge lessons, we continued our ‘toy’ theme by learning about everyone’s favourite toys through show and tell. Some even shared drawings of their favourite toy. It’s lovely to see how creative our K1s are. We further reinforced our understanding of the ‘purple’ and ‘heart’ shape by giving a purple monster heart shaped gifts for his birthday. We’re looking forward to all the fun in store for us next month!

This week was our parents got the chance to watch us learn in class. We had a lot of fun sharing all our knowledge with them. For critical thinking, we explored making and playing with Oobleck slime as well as seeing how a guitar works. We continued to learn about our five senses, with a focus on touch and sound. For math, we continue learning all the numbers between 1-20, including which numbers come before and after them. Christmas is right around the corner, so we have started to build and decorate our 3D Christmas class project this week. We have a lot planned before Christmas break, so we all can’t to see how it turns out.

Hello everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful week. Our mommies and daddies had the opportunity to see how well we learn at school. We had a great time showing off our learning skills! Thank you to those who were able to make it. Our critical thinking this week we began with discussing light, what it is and how it affects our everyday lives. We had lots of chances to play with shadows and colors! In our math class, we have begun to discuss how to read a grid work of 3 by 3. This will help us read things like maps. During our physical play, we practice different stretches, and got to understand why it is important to stretch before play and exercise.

主題:「動物」-水中的動物
今週,老師利用海浪聲作引起動機,讓幼兒認識各種水中的動物,以及牠們的身體特徵。幼兒並學習利用手部動作模仿魚兒及八爪魚游泳的姿態,樣子十分非常可愛!
另外,老師與幼兒一起製作「小烏龜」,幼兒對圖工活動感到十分新奇,並在引導下一邊描述小烏龜的外貌,一邊將小烏龜製作出來。
語文活動方面,幼兒今週認識「水」字。老師與幼兒一起進行「扭毛巾遊戲」,透過親身體驗,幼兒認識「水」字、水的功用和學習替小動物清潔概念。同時,遊戲提升了幼兒對課堂的興趣,爸爸媽媽在家也可和幼兒進行遊戲,重溫並延續是次的學習主題呢!

主題:「玩具」─ 玩具大集合
今週,我們展開新主題─「玩具」。老師邀請幼兒分享自己最心愛的玩具作引起動機。過程中,幼兒認識到自己和別人的喜好,也學習到運用口頭造句來表達玩具的名稱和特徵。同時,幼兒嘗試用手(觸覺)探索不同玩具的質感,並學習運用形容詞來描述,例如軟、硬、毛茸茸等。藉此,老師與幼兒延伸討論至分類的概念,請幼兒學以致用,按照玩具的特徵進行分類。爸爸媽媽在家也可請幼兒實踐把玩具分類,慢慢養成自己收拾玩具的好習慣呢!

主題:「食物」—均衡飲食
今週展開新主題─「食物」。老師運用「兒童健康飲食金字塔」介紹不同類別的食物,鞏固幼兒對六大類食物的認識,包括穀物類、蔬菜類、水果類、肉類、奶類和油鹽糖類。老師及後展示實物,請幼兒學習把食物分類,並一起討論各類食物需進食的份量及原因,讓幼兒建立均衡飲食的概念。另外,老師教導幼兒進食時要定時定量,又特別提醒幼兒應多吃蔬菜及水果,吸收足夠的膳食纖維和維他命,讓身體變得更健康強壯呢!爸爸媽媽在家也要提醒幼兒乖乖吃飯,不要偏食啊!

(1) 認識「食物金字塔」及六大類食物種類
(2) 學習均衡飲食的進食份量和定時進食的重要性

今週展開新主題─「食物」。透過各式各樣的食物圖片、教具和實物,老師帶出「健康飲食金字塔」,並讓小朋友知道哪些食物(例如穀物類、蔬果類)需要多攝取,哪些食物(例如油鹽糖類,蛋奶類及肉類)只能吃適量。
另外,透過故事、討論和設計健康餐盒遊戲,老師教導小朋友不同食物有不同的營養價值,藉此加強小朋友均衡飲食的概念。爸爸媽媽在家也可鼓勵小朋友多嘗試不同種類的食物,不偏食及多做運動,培養出強健的體魄呢!
最後,語文技巧方面,我們學習有關量詞的運用。老師與小朋友一同在生活環境中發掘各種物件應配對的量詞,讓小朋友把學習融入在生活當中。
