Highlights of the Week

PN

The children are happy to see their classmates again after a long holiday. There are lots of smiles and laughter as the students greet their friends and teachers over zoom classes. This week they are exploring a new theme of being healthy. Through their school books, they got familiar with names of some fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, carrots and tomatoes. For English, the children learnt about the letter G and letter T. For the letter G, the children had a peep into the letter box and found a goat, gorilla, and objects with the colour green. For Math, they are working on their counting skills. Using their counting fingers to identify numbers from 1 -6. Next week, the PN students are going to learn the different ways they can stay healthy at home.





K1

It was great to see our kids back on zoom after a long holiday break. This week for Cambridge we reviewed farm animal names and colours to refresh their memory after the break. The K1 class also got to practice using sentences such as ‘I like…’. They all did an amazing job and were able to grasp the concept quite fast! We learnt letter /j/ for phonics and all of us got together to make delicious jam sandwiches! We surely enjoyed making those yummy sandwiches. For maths, we reviewed the concept of up, down, front back along with the shapes star, diamond and semicircle. It was great to see how well they did and how much they remember after the holidays!

Welcome back!! We hope everyone had a great Chinese New Year holiday. We are off to a great start for the K2 class because we have new Phonics and Cambridge books for the term. In English lessons, we started talking about the four characters of our new books that have amazing superpowers.


In Math, we revised all the things we learned in the first term to refresh our memories after the long holiday. We recalled counting from 1-50 and did some addition combinations.


In Critical Thinking, we talked about our dear planet Earth and how it’s the only place in our solar system that is livable to animals, plants and human beings. We discussed which planet we would all visit if we could, and our class chose Mars.

Welcome back to K3A! We’re excited to be back and see all our friends on Zoom after two weeks holiday. We’re also excited to explore our new books for our last term of Kindergarten! This week for Maths we reviewed some previous concepts for addition and subtraction in preparation for a new concept next week that might be a bit tough! For Critical Thinking, we are talking about Space for February. This week we reviewed the planets that we knew and talking about how they spin and orbit the sun. We even made our own guide to remember how close they are to the sun.

主題: 「我的身體」─保護身體

今週主題圍繞「我的身體」,透過簡報和影片分享,幼兒學習到眼睛、耳朵和口的功用,以及其對我們日常生活的重要,老師亦藉此帶出我們應好好保護自己的眼睛、耳朵和口,同時教導幼兒恰當的護理方法。另外,老師設計了不同的圖工,讓幼兒寓探索於遊戲,大家都積極投入課堂活動中呢!


學習目的 :

1. 認識眼、耳、口的名稱及位置

2. 探索眼、耳、口的功能

3. 認識眼、耳、口的重要性及保護方法




K1

主題:「農場」-農場的動物

老師以提問作引起動機,請幼兒思考雞、牛、羊及豬居住的地方,從而展開新主題─「農場」。透過故事,幼兒初步了解動物與人類的分別、不同動物的五官特徵及生活習性等。老師又與幼兒玩遊戲,請幼兒扮演不同的農場動物及模倣牠們的叫聲,由其他同學猜猜是甚麼的農場動物,幼兒都專心聆聽及踴躍回答,積極投入課堂活動中呢!


學習目的:

1. 認識農場裏的動物

2. 認識農場動物的特徵及

3. 初步了解動物與人類的分別



K2

主題:「植物與昆蟲」─植物的生長

今週展開新主題「植物與昆蟲」,老師請幼兒觀察和討論四季的天氣,藉此帶出春天和暖及有微雨的天氣特徵,並延伸討論春天的天氣特徵與種子發芽及植物生長的關係。透過故事及短片分享,幼兒了解到植物是生命體,生長需要陽光、空氣、水分和泥土中的養份四大主要元素。

另外,老師向幼兒介紹了種植活動,請幼兒嘗試種植,自行把種子放進泥土,並每日澆水,藉此重溫植物成長時所需的元素,並體驗種子發芽及成長的過程。老師希望藉着活動啟發幼兒對種植及觀賞植物的興趣,並從照顧植物成長的過程中建立幼兒的責任感。


學習目的:

1. 認識春天的天氣特徵與植物的關係

2. 知道植物生長所需元素及過程

3. 培養種植的興趣及建立責任感




K3

主題:「我愛大自然」

今週展開新主題「我愛大自然」,老師與幼兒重溫植物生長的所需,並討論栽種的步驟。透過談討植物的構造,幼兒了解到植物基本的四個生長部份及其功能。在剛過去的新年,大家家中都添置了年花,小朋友都踴躍自己家中擺放的年花名稱、形態及顏色等。老師藉此帶出賞花的活動,藉着欣賞花的美態讓小朋友進一步了解花的結構及不同結構的作用。建議爸爸媽媽可與小朋友在家一起嘗試栽種小盆栽,讓小朋友分擔照顧盆栽的責任,藉此培養栽種興趣及責任感。


學習目的:

1. 重溫植物生長的所需及栽種的步驟

2. 認識植物的基本結構部份及其功能

3. 培養栽種的興趣及責任感
