This week was exciting since the PN students were able to come to school for face to face learning for one day. The children were so happy to see their friends and teachers again as well as a few of their new classmates. This week the theme is all about water transportation. They learnt words such as boat, rowboat, yacht and ship. They pretended to sail a boat at school and even got to play with toys boats through water play. For Math, the children learned about which things go over and which can be found under. They continued to fill the day having fun through music and dance. We can’t wait to see everyone again for more fun learning next week.

It’s been an amazing week as we got to come back to school to see our classmates and teachers! We started an exciting new topic in Cambridge this week as we looked at different types of transport. It was a relatable topic as everyone was able to share the transport they enjoy taking. In phonics this week we learned the sounds /qu/ and /r/ and explored vocabulary related to these sounds with fun activities like making a class rainbow. Our K1 children were proud to share their knowledge of colours as we looked at the colours grey and brown in Math. Critical Thinking was extra special this week as we talked about our mums in light of Mother’s Day on Sunday. Everyone was very keen on making some really special flowers for their mums this week. Happy Mother’s Day everyone and we look forward to continuing the fun next week!

Welcome back K2, and we are celebrating Mother’s Day this week. Students made flower stamps with vegetables such as celery. Then they drew the stems on and wrote a lovely message for their mummies. The students enjoyed the activity a lot and they put in a lot of effort to ensure their cards look beautiful! Happy Mother’s Day!
For English, we are learning about pets and students are very eager to talk about their pets or favourite animals during “Show and Tell”. They were asked to describe pictures of where the animals were placed, by using different prepositions such as on, in, under. Also for Math this week, we have been doing more practice with additions, and it seems that the students have fully comprehended the concept of additions and can provide answers much more quickly than before. We have learnt all the numbers up to 100 now! Well done to you all!

The K3 students were very excited to be back at school, even if it was for one day. This week, we learned about Mother’s Day and why it is important to celebrate all mothers and grandmothers. We made cards together during our in-class day, and we hope you have a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother’s Day. In math, we continued to learn about money and practiced with dollars and cents. We have been learning to add bills and coins together and how to read how much an item costs. The K3 students also continue to practice their addition skills in double digit addition with regrouping. We have been learning this for a few weeks now and the students seem more confident in their ability. We look forward to next week with two days at school!

今週主題圍繞「有益的食物」,老師利用食物金字塔介紹不同種類的食物,幼兒知道食物金字塔的分類,以及如何培養健康的飲食習慣,包括五穀類應吃最多,蔬菜和水果類可以多吃一點;奶、肉、魚、蛋及代替品吃適量;油、鹽和糖應吃最少。另外,老師與幼兒延伸討論肉類,一起發掘不同肉類的來源,例如豬肉是來自豬、牛肉來自牛等,老師並教導幼兒感恩及珍惜食物。
最後,母親節快到了,老師和幼兒一起製作禮物送給媽媽,感謝媽媽的照顧,我們在此祝各位媽媽:「母親節快樂!」

主題:「有益的食物」-健康的蔬果
今週主題繼續圍繞「有益的食物」,老師透過故事《水果兵團》介紹不同水果的名稱、外型、氣味、味道、質感及種類,幼兒並知道水果對身體的益處。幼兒並嘗試運用語言形容不同的水果,做得很好呢!
另外,老師與幼兒一起觀察蔬菜的外貌,幼兒發現蔬菜除了有常見的綠色外,也有不同的顏色,老師藉此介紹不同種類的蔬菜名稱,以及蔬菜的益處,包括不同的營養和纖維有助腸道健康。
家長在家也可鼓勵幼兒多吃蔬果,養成健康飲食的好習慣啊!

主題:「小小科學家」─ 光與影子
今週的主題是「小小科學家」。老師透過「踩影子」遊戲引發幼兒對影子的興趣,藉此帶出影子的由來。分享過有關影子的影片後,老師請幼兒利用電筒探索物件透光與不透光的特性,老師並延伸帶出影子的大小與光源、物體、屏幕的距離有關。最後,老師與幼兒進行手影遊戲,幼兒都玩得十分投入。爸爸媽媽與幼兒外出時也可多留意影子的變化,延伸是次的主題學習。
語文技巧方面,老師與幼兒重溫寫字,幼兒都留心觀察及學習每個字的筆順呢!

今週主題圍繞「小小科學家」,老師向幼兒介紹了幾位對人們生活有重大貢獻的科學家。 老師期望藉着科學家的故事,讓小朋友學習到科學家的精神─做任何事情都帶着信心和毅力,勇於嘗試、探索和求真。另外,老師跟小朋友一起當起小小科學家來,進行了一些簡單的科學實驗,例如溶解、光與影、自製彩虹等,除希望提高小朋友對科學的興趣,也希望培養他們的思考力和觀察力,同時鍛鍊推斷與假設的技巧。
最後,語文技巧方面,小朋友今週學習了改寫句子的技巧,也重温了已學的部首。
