Highlights of the Week (23/24 Term 2 Week 12)

Hello friends! Welcome to week 12! Our PN classes continued the theme “Community Helpers” this week and focused on the two new community helpers who help us when we are feeling unwell--Doctors and Nurses! We got a chance to try their uniforms on and we looked really smart and professional. We also had a blast taking a closer look at all the equipment they use when they are working! For English, we focused on revising letter Q and letter R. We had an interesting revision game that we needed to take out the different toys from the mystery box and match them to the correct beginning letter baskets. In our Math lesson, we learnt about a new number friend which was the number 10. It was amazing to go on a scavenger hunt and search for all the numbers 1 to 10 in the classroom! And we were able to find all of our number friends!  In addition, we were asked to do some exercise 10 times, like touching toes, jumping jacks, etc. How amazing this week was once again! Hello, everyone! Welcome to the exciting 12th week of our fun-filled learning journey. In our English class, we put our focus on the sounds /g/, /f/, /c/, and /k/. We also practiced blending two sounds together.

In our Critical Thinking segment, we embarked on a fresh topic: "Insects." We had the opportunity to explore the different parts of their bodies, sing an insect song, and enjoy a story about these fascinating creatures.

In Math, we triumphantly counted all the way up to the number 16! Furthermore, we dove into the concept of "In vs Out," expanding our mathematical knowledge.

What an exciting week of new learning! This week our K2 students continued their lesson on Clocks in Math lesson. Last week, we learned about the term "o'clock" in relation to digital clocks and this week, we're expanding our understanding by exploring the same term in the context of analog clocks. Students discovered that when referring to the term "o'clock," the long hand points to the number 12. To test for understanding, teachers called out different times and students need to put the correct numbers in the digital clock and point the correct hands to the correct numbers for the analog clock. What a great exercise!

It’s all about travelling in Critical Thinking lesson. We are having a great blast learning about our friends’ travels over the holidays by listening to their Show and Tell. K2 students brought pictures and souvenirs from their travels to share and gave great descriptions of the places they saw and the things they did. We all can’t wait for next week’s up coming lessons as we eagerly prepare for a thrilling airplane roleplay, embarking on our own K2 journey. See you next week!

有益的食物

來到主題「有益的食物」的最後一週,老師向幼兒介紹不同種類的蔬菜,並請幼兒分享自己吃過的蔬菜名稱。為了加強幼兒認識蔬菜對身體有益處,幼兒在課堂中嘗試自製沙律,幼兒除了享受製作的過程,亦都吃得津津有味呢!

認字方面,老師與幼兒認讀認字「豆」及其字義。幼兒認識到有不同類型的豆,例如紅、綠豆和毛豆等,在課堂活動中,幼兒嘗試自己打開毛豆,並發現當毛豆打開外殼後,裏面藏着綠色的豆。最後,幼兒亦嘗試品嚐毛豆的味道。

除了認識不同的食物,老師向幼兒介紹進食時的餐桌禮儀,知道吃飯時要坐好,利用餐具吃飯。幼兒透過模擬遊戲,向同伴示範正確的餐桌禮儀。

 

學習目的:

1.享受自製沙律的過程

2.認讀「豆」字及其字義

3.認識正確的餐桌禮儀

主題:「交通工具」─ 陸上交通選擇多

 

今週主題繼續圍繞「交通工具」。透過圖書、圖片和短片分享,幼兒認識各種常見的陸上交通工具,例如巴士、小巴、的士等,老師並引導幼兒比較它們的不同之處,包括外型、車箱內設計、座位數量等。另外,老師帶領幼兒進行角色扮演,模擬各種交通工具的上落方式、付款方法、等侯上車的地點等,引導幼兒分享經驗,藉此提升幼兒的口語表達能力。建議家長與幼兒外出時,可乘搭不同的陸上交通工具,豐富幼兒的日常經驗。

 

學習目的: (1) 認識各種常見的陸上交通工具

(2) 比較巴士、小巴、的士的不同之處

(3) 知道香港三種顏色的的士會行走不同的地區

本週進入主題「認識世界」第一週,老師利用世界地圖引起幼兒的學習興趣,幼兒通過觀察地圖,指出在地球上藍色的部分是海洋,而已有七個大洲,包括亞洲、歐洲、非洲、大洋洲、北美洲、南美洲、南極洲。

老師引導幼兒認識亞洲有哪些國家?有幼兒說中國是在亞洲,接著老師利用簡報介紹中國地圖,問幼兒香港在中國哪裡呢?幼兒能成功指出香港的位置。

過程中,不少幼兒表示曾到訪澳門,並能指出澳門在香港的旁邊。老師提議請幼兒下星期可以帶些到外地旅遊的照片回來分享,以加深幼兒對不同國家、城市的認識及訓練他們的分享技巧。

除此之外,老師透過不同國家食物的圖片,請幼兒說說曾經嚐試了哪國食物,幼兒都可指出香港可以吃到很多不同國家的食物,從而帶出香港是個美食天堂。

  學習目標﹕

1.     知道地球分為陸地和海洋

2.     認識不同國家的食物

3.     培養尊重文化差異的態度

主題: 「交通工具」

 

今週展開新主題「交通工具」,老師透過圖片,遊戲和角色扮演讓幼兒認識及分類海陸空、私人和公共交通工具。另外亦讓幼兒了解交通工具的用途,乘搭的禮儀及與我們日常生活有著息息相關的關係。

此外,透過影片分享,老師跟幼兒分享了香港昔日的交通工具和其演變過程,讓幼兒大開眼界。

另外,老師引導幼兒製作自己獨一無二的車及與同伴合作製作了一個有不同交通標誌和設施的模擬交通城市。

最後,老師以遊戲跟幼兒講解了疊字和看圖造句等語文技巧。

 

學習目的: 1)學習交通工具與我們日常生活的關係

2)學習分類交通工具及明白行人要遵守交通規則

3)比較現今和昔日的交通工具
